Our long-standing relationship with Valle del Sol, and the fact that I usually golf there several times a week, we decided to continue our "tee time" reservation service with them.  There is no charge for reserving a tee time, but we do request that you supply us with: 1.) Date,  2.) Desired time,  3.) Number of golfers,  4.) Hotel where you are staying,  and, 5.) Whether you need rental clubs.  Although not always necessary, we recommend reserving your tee time in advance.

• No deposit is required for making a tee time reservation. 

• Golfers only need to present a credit card at the Pro Shop desk when arriving. 

• Valle del Sol is approximately 20-30 minutes from San Jose hotels via taxi.  Taxi fares should range around $10-15 each way. 

• Green fees are currently $85 for "all day", which includes a cart.  Rental clubs are $35.

    Please note that Golf in Costa Rica no longer makes "tee time" reservations at other golf courses around Costa Rica as they require paying in advance to make a reservation.  Generally there is no problem as a walk-on, as they are seldom crowded.  It is too dark to play golf after 5:25 pm, so plan your starting times accordingly.

Car Rentals

   Golf in Costa Rica continues our "Car Rental" service, as we are not required by the agencies to make a money deposit to reserve a vehicle for our clients.  Please note that during "high" season (Dec-April) there tends to be less cars available than the people wanting to rent them.  It is common that  internet reservations are lost or never received. Though this may not ruin your vacation entirely, it may cause you to resort to plan "B".  Also, please be aware that the deals that you find on the internet are often not honored in Costa Rica.

    Costa Rica has a mandatory "national" insurance charge that ranges from $10-16 per day, depending on the vehicle.  Most car rental websites mention this charge. The use of certain credit cards, such as Platinum cards, etc., will receive a $5 per day deduction on this mandatory insurance.  You will need a valid driver's license, passport and must be at least 21 years of age to rent a vehicle.

    If you decide to have Golf in Costa Rica reserve your rental car for you, please include in your email:  1.) Choice of vehicle, 2.) Days you wish to rent,  3.) Where you wish to pick-up the car,  and, 4.) Drop off point.  Please take note that there is an additional fee for dropping rental car off at the airport.
