Practice
special shots before you need them. For Example, try
hitting soft pitches over a bunker with a 5-iron. You
never know when you might need to pull this one out of the
bag.
-
One
of the most popular practice drills is to swing the club with
your feet together. This drill encourages you to turn
your body and swing your arms, and improves balance and
timing.
-
The
best way to deal with pressure on the golf course is to
develop a repeating routine. Even the best players
tighten up down the stretch, but that's when they depend on
the preshot routine they've developed over the years.
-
To
appreciate the sense of hitting into a firm left side, turn
your left foot in a few degrees at address. This
provides resistance in the hitting area and allows your hips
to clear at a tremendous rate. The result should be
added distance.
-
To
accentuate a strong pivot, turn your upper body and get your
left knee behind the ball on the backswing. On the
downswing, swing your arms and hands and get your right knee
to the ball at the same time as the club head.
