You can't watch a golf
tournament on television this year, or pick up a golf
magazine, without hearing about how all the
pros are hitting today's newly designed golf balls 15 or
20 yards farther, or how they produce more spin for
holding those tight greens. Good for them, but
experts are quick to warn amateurs that they shouldn't
expect as big of a gain if they switch to these new high
tech golf balls. Why? These new golf balls
react to the incredibly high clubhead swing speed today's
golf pros generate, whereas, most amateurs' club speed is
probably slower than the pros, so naturally they can
expect to pick up less distance and less backspin than the
pros. |
