Costa Rica's International airport outside Liberia now makes it possible to spend your entire vacation in the northwestern province of Guanacaste golfing, sunbathing, and relaxing, never needing to set foot in the Central Valley.  Click here for map!   Simply, choose a flight that arrives at the "Daniel Oduber" International Airport just outside Liberia,  reserve a hotel room in the Guanacaste province and a rent a car to move about freely in order to play several of our best courses, located there. We suggest selecting a hotel near the small beach town of Tamarindo for its central location.  Selecting a hotel in other areas of Guanacaste, such as Papagayo or Culebra Bay is fine, but will mean longer traveling distances to play golf.

   Another option would be to arrive at San Jose's International Airport, "Juan Santamaria", play a round or two in the Central Valley, then travel north to the Guanacaste province for more golfing and sunbathing.   Just reserve a hotel room in both San Jose and Guanacaste, it's that simple.  Once again a rental car would be necessary to move about freely for maximum enjoyment of your vacation. Please remember that driving to Guanacaste is a whole day event, as well as the return.  It is possible to golf in the early morning and travel afterwards, however this would become a very long and tiring day, and is not recommended unless you are traveling with several drivers.

    A third itinerary would be to stay entirely in the Central Valley golfing, with a possible day trip to the beach for a round of golf at Los Suenos.  It is possible to do Los Suenos as a day trip, though once again it will make for a rather long day.

   The Paradisus Playa Conchal Golf and Beach Resort, owner of the spectacular Garra de Leon golf course, offers "All-inclusive" packages. If this sounds like you, this one is highly recommended for its food, drink, lovely accommodations, atmosphere and excellent golf course.

    There is also the option of staying at the very luxurious Four Seasons Hotel in Culebra Bay with its Arnold Palmer designed seaside golf course, available only to guests of the hotel.  Just over an hour drives away, on small scenic country roads from the Four Seasons Resort, are the Garra de Leon and Hacienda Pinilla golf courses near the town of Tamarindo. Unfortunately, there is no public transportation available connecting these hotels and golf courses.
